So I've been desperately wanting and needing a change in my appearance. While visiting a friend, I noticed that a local salon had been running a $14 spray tan special.
All of my life, I have been against tanning. You wouldn't believe the amount of free tanning vouchers, certificates, and tanning lotions I have had to sell or pass on.
I thought to myself, "Hmm...a spray tan couldn't be too harmful". So of course I tried it!
Here is a not so great photo of the before and after pigmentation the day of the application.

At first, I was worried about it not being dark enough. Trust me, you won't believe how dark you get until you see your bikini line.
My first issue with this method of tanning were the missed spots. The girl who sprayed me completely missed my sides and the outsides of my arms.
I had to schedule a return a couple of days later for them to "fix it". This didn't cost me anything, but it still wasn't perfect.
Overall, I loved the way I looked the couple of days after. If I could look like that all the time, I would be pretty happy. Sadly, the tan flakes away and you end up looking pretty gross until you decide to exfoliate all of it off.
I probably won't spray tan again, but I'm highly considering tanning for real. Yes, it's terrible for you. I'm 23, and maybe it's selfish and naive, but I honestly don't care. I pass through smog ridden cities, expose myself to how much radiation on flights, and have secondhand smoke forced onto me by inconsiderate asshats. We're all dying slowly. I'll consider this before I decide where I stand with tanning beds.
